Volunteer Opportunities

The Arboretum offers a wide variety of opportunities for members, the local community, service groups and youth groups to contribute to the nurturing of the Arboretum  -  an area of natural beauty in the midst of a rapidly developing section of King County.

Whether you have a few hours to commit or many, there's a place for your talents. Since the Arboretum was developed and is maintained by volunteers, opportunities abound and range from strategic planning to digging in the dirt!

Specific area of involvement include our plant sale, regularly scheduled work parties, the LWAF Board, and its committees. Committee work includes:

  • Property Management & Development Committee
This committee is responsible for planning and implementing new gardens as well as tasks to beautify and maintain existing gardens and the forest reserve.

  • Membership & Public Relations Committee
This committee is responsible for advertising Arboretum events and activities as well managing membership recruitment and signup. They are also responsible for our website, newsletter, and volunteer recruitment and recognition.

  • Education & Conservation Committee
This committee develops and manages educational activities and opportunities for a variety of age groups. This includes our classes and workshops.

  • Budget & Finance Committee
This committee is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Arboretum Foundation's financial management procedures. Included in their responsibilities is fund raising which includes procuring grants.

Please call 425.413.2572 or email us to join a great group of people who love being outdoors while fulfilling and expanding on the dreams of the Arboretum founders.
